The FMS Team provides highly regarded financial support services to schools and academies. We are ambitious to further develop and expand our service offer in the changing education market within North Yorkshire and the North of England. The Team operates as part of North Yorkshire Education Services. We are delighted to have been successful in securing work with the DfE to carry out School Resource Management Reviews in schools and academy trusts in the North East, Yorkshire and Humber area which will offer a rewarding and challenging opportunity to support schools and trusts to deliver improvements.
Working closely with the Assistant Director, Strategic Resources, you will provide leadership to the team to continue to deliver an excellent service to our existing customers. You will provide drive, commercial direction and innovative thinking to develop new financial support products for the school sector, growing the customer base as well as delivering the SRMA contract.
The role is based at County Hall, Northallerton with potential for some home working, and will give access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, generous holiday entitlement and access to NYCC employee’s Everybody Benefits Scheme. This post is offered as a full time role but consideration will be given to any applicants seeking a part time position or term time working.

There will be opportunity to move the team into new markets and develop new products. However, it is not for the feint-hearted. You will be a confident leader with excellent financial credentials with the drive and tenacity to move the business forward. You will be equally comfortable working with senior leaders in the Council and in Multi-Academy Trusts as well as Governors, Headteachers and School Business Managers.
