The Trust is an Alternative Delivery Model designed to deliver all statutory services for children’s social care and is an independent not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. We are specifically designed to ensure children and their families are at the heart of our work and have a clear remit to improve social care practice and outcomes for our most vulnerable children and families in Slough. Our recent positive Ofsted inspection has confirmed we are making good progress.

Building on this positive momentum is crucial and the Assistant Director Quality, Improvement, Practice and Performance will play a central role in our improvement journey, not least as the Trust’s lead for Ofsted readiness. Working as part of a strong and supportive strategic senior leadership team, you will be the strategic lead for Slough’s transformation so that services for children, young people and families consistently good or better.

With responsibility for safeguarding, practice development and improvement you will help drive up standards and performance to ensure we are delivering the best possible services to our children and young people. You will work closely with the Director of Operations (Assistant Director for Children’s Social Care), other key stakeholders at the Trust and the wider partnership in Slough to accelerate the pace of change, deliver better outcomes and help set the future vision.

A strategic thinker and horizon scanner with excellent attention to detail, you will bring a strong track record of quality improvement at a senior level in a local authority setting. You may be an experienced Head of Service who is looking for career progression to a broader role or an existing Assistant Director who wants the freedom and flexibility offered by our Trust status. There is no better time to be joining us; this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to make their mark in the sector.

We want to be an employer of choice in the region and a place where good social work can flourish.
