Stockport is an ambitious Borough implementing a complex and exciting transformational programme to radically reshape service delivery and make inclusive growth a reality for our residents. We are taking a lead, collaborating with Partners and utilising Digital to provide exceptional services to all our communities. We are determined to reshape Stockport to reposition ourselves as an international Borough, which is evidenced by our commitment to delivering a whole town approach to regeneration including a £1 billion Town centre redevelopment, as well as significant transport infrastructure renewal. In addition, we seek to maximise our assets and traded services in order to meet the challenges ahead.

In this new role of Service Director you will be pivotal in shaping the implementation of this ambitious vision, developing and driving the robust and effective strategic planning and strategies to improve the citizen experience, developing and driving delivery of the co-production strategy utilising digital to create be­er service access methods to increase independence and self-service opportunities for our residents. You will be a strong leader in a senior leadership team that provides quality services and drives change, but be comfortable working in a matrix management environment.

You will have significant experience of insight – driven tactical strategy development and a demonstrable track record in delivering innovative customer engagement programmes. Your role will be to revolutionise the way the Council interacts with our residents, challenging the status quo and embedding a customer service culture across the organisation.

This is a key role for the Council and in a senior leadership role you will be required to steer the development and delivery of major change projects. This requires an individual who is a highly skilled communicator who thrives in a complex, networked and political environment, and has the personal credibility to actively drive service improvement based on robust business intelligence.
