Service Director: Children’s Health & Wellbeing
Our Service Director for Children’s Health & Wellbeing is one of the 4 senior roles that comprise Together for Families - Cornwall Council’s new Integrated Children’s Services Directorate. The post holder is also a member of the Council Leadership Team, reporting directly to Strategic Director for Children, Schools & Families who is our system wide lead for Children’s Services across Education, Health and Social Care for the whole of Cornwall.
As Service Director for Children’s Health & Wellbeing, you will play a key role in bringing forward new ideas and working with health colleagues to improve outcomes for children, ensuring that we deliver on the Council’s obligations to promote public health outcomes. In addition, you will play a key role in leading the integration strategy for children, young people and their families and further enhancing integrated working in Cornwall.
You will lead a team of 350 staff undertaking the following functions:
- Children’s Community Health Services (Health Visiting, School Nursing and Specialist Speech & Language Therapy)
- Early Years Foundation Stage Services
- Special Education Needs & Disability (SEND) Service
- Children’s Psychology Services
- Business Support & Administration
