The Role

Camden Learning was established as a company in April 2017 and is at a key stage of its development. We are a not-for-profit school company, set up as a joint enterprise between schools and the council.  All local schools are members of the company.  Camden Learning is a force for excellence, and impact, driving the establishment of a school-led system where members share responsibility for ensuring all our children thrive, enjoy learning and achieve well, so they leave school as confident, successful learners and good citizens.

Camden Council has commissioned Camden Learning to provide a range of services, including some statutory services, on its behalf. Camden Learning also acts a single point of contact for Camden Council’s Schools’ Traded Services. We anticipate that, for the foreseeable future, the majority of Camden schools will be choosing to buy many school improvement services, including governor support, from Camden Learning.

WHAT WE PROMISE

Our partnership promise is that Camden Learning will:

  • Make sure every child is known, valued and thrives
  • Support early learning as the foundation for success
  • Create opportunities so every teacher enjoys teaching and keeps improving
  • Build connections to support school and area improvement, innovation and excellence
  • Share intelligence and act on evidence
  • Welcome challenge
  • Celebrate success
  • Work with other public services, such as health and housing
  • Learn from, and contribute to, the best practice in the world.

Our Priorities

Camden Learning is responsible for ensuring that all children are able to attend a great, local school and achieve well, including the highest possible outcomes. In fulfilling this responsibility, our priorities are:

  • Building Camden Learning as a force for improvement
  • Developing great teachers and inspiring learners
  • Attracting, developing and keeping the best leaders
  • Enriching learning in Camden

The Director of Learning, will have responsibility for ensuring the Camden Learning’s School Improvement Strategy is well designed and targeted to effect the greatest change.  This will support the growth of the partnership.  The Director of Learning will be responsible for the effective implementation of the strategy, including its review and development.

We continually review our structure and business practices in order to provide the best possible education services for children, young people and their families.  As a result, the key tasks in any role profile may be varied and the post-holder will be expected to be able to work flexibly and take on such variations and duties, consistent with the level of responsibility of the post and the business development.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About You
