Big changes. No excuses. That's what we're delivering at Wirral Council. We've got ambitious targets to meet by 2020. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities.

Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place.  It is a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

We are a supportive employer who will provide flexible and agile working opportunities but demands the very best.

About the role

In this role, you'll develop and lead the Council's services for Elected Members, including strategies and plans for individual Members to engage stakeholders, directly supporting them in community development and delivery of our 'Wirral together' strategies. You will also lead our executive, committee and decision-making services, electoral administration and civic services, ensuring modern and effective delivery.

About you

We are looking for someone who can manage complex stakeholder environments with confidence and credibility. You'll need to have significant experience in providing Democratic, Electoral and Scrutiny Services to a local authority, including knowledge of 'current thinking' and approaches relating to strategic planning, corporate governance and democratic engagement. Your experience should include change management, strategic development and performance improvement.

Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our residents and customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do. If you would like a confidential conversation, please contact Philip McCourt, Director of Governance and Assurance on 01516918569.

No holding back. No excuses. Just change Wirral. Sound like you? Click below and tell us why. Bring it on.
