Our new Executive Director of Borough Development and Deputy Chief Executive’s impact will be fundamental to the future success of our borough. We punch above our weight and this is a high profile and influential £4 billion regeneration and development role that will drive the delivery of good growth that meets the needs of our residents today and tomorrow to ensure that Basingstoke continues to be well positioned as a vibrant centre in the region. Major projects leveraging the council’s existing landholdings include the new c.10,000 home Manydown community, guided by Garden Town principles, a £300 million leisure park redevelopment with a designer outlet centre and the 65 acre Basing View business park redevelopment.

We are seeking a placemaking Executive Director with a flair for partnership working, who understands the value of working with local communities, who can build and sustain credible and commercial relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring our programmes are delivered successfully. You will lead and inspire a growing team, fostering innovation and collaboration to make tangible improvements for residents and local businesses.

Wider responsibilities in this role include taking responsibility for the borough’s overall growth strategy, leading on partnerships and working closely with the Chief Executive on a range of key corporate initiatives.
