Oxfordshire County Council is seeking an experienced social care leader to drive forward our ambition to support our residents to live independent lives and to work in partnership with people who access services, their families, our health partners and the provider/voluntary sector to achieve this.
Oxfordshire is the most rural county in the south east, with a population of around 635,500 people. Being home to the ancient University of Oxford and the rolling hills of the Cotswolds it is steeped in rich history and culture. As a progressive and forward-thinking council, we’re embarking on a significant change programme, building an even better Oxfordshire, not just for today but for future generations.
We have strong partnerships with health, the community and voluntary sector organisations. You will need to be able to build on these relationships at a strategic level, to deliver our ambitions as set out within the Council’s Corporate Plan. Our vision is to build thriving communities for everyone in Oxfordshire, listening to residents so we can continuously improve our services and provide value for money.
We are looking for an innovative leader to be our statutory DASS, to drive our ambitious vision for Adults Social Care. You will report to the Chief Executive, and be a core member of the corporate leadership team. You will be a key player in the leadership and development of services and transformation across the council as well as ensuring that our most vulnerable people are supported. The role requires a strong grip on all aspects of adult care service delivery, financial management and commissioning.
You will bring relevant and recent senior experience of managing adult services, in a statutory setting, as well as an ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders including central government and regulators.
If you would like an informal discussion about this exciting opportunity please contact David Slatter on 07500 828610 or David.Slatter@penna.com or Carol Coyle on 07500 887849 or Carol.Coyle@penna.com
Closing date: Friday 19th April 2019.
