Worcestershire Children First is a wholly owned company created by Worcestershire County Council to take full operational responsibility in October 2019 for all Children’s Services including Social Care, Education and Early Help.

Building on recent improvements, we are driving a sustainable model of delivery to ensure Worcestershire is a wonderful place for all children and young people to live, grow, and be safe, and are therefore supported to achieve, and nurtured to become independent adults.

Worcestershire Children First’s sole focus will be improving services and outcomes for children and young people in Worcestershire.

As Chair, your role will be to lead the Board at a strategic level to ensure clarity of vision and direction of the company. As a nominee of the Secretary of State for Education you will be working closely with the Commissioner and Chief Executive of the company to create an effective, well-run and performance focused culture, recognising the importance of improving outcomes for the children and young people of the county.

In this position, your senior leadership experience, innovative approach and commitment will be key to our success.
