Head of ICT & Digital
Big changes. No excuses. That’s what we’re delivering at Wirral Council. We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2020. We want to become a connected borough, with digitally enabled residents who have access to seamless and easy-to-use services. We’ll look to you to bring a compelling digital vision, as well as the skills and dedication to make our aspirations a reality.
In this role, you’ll define our Digital Strategy, be a dynamic leader and provide high-quality, customer-focused services. You’ll also agree a programme of work that will allow us to achieve our strategic needs. In fact, you’ll oversee and contribute to the Council’s ongoing improvement, particularly around the development of our IT systems.
Innovation will be at the heart of your digital vision. Which is why you’ll research creative and commercial possibilities to develop and implement cutting-edge strategies. Additionally, you’ll encourage a high-performance culture. That way, you’ll make sure we deliver the best digital outcomes for our residents. As part of this, you’ll monitor our services to ensure they’re continuously performing and improving. You’ll also inspire people throughout the organisation, while providing effective mentoring and leadership to your team.
We need someone who can immediately start realising our ambitions. Which is why you’ll bring in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of digital services in local government. You’ll also hold a degree and a relevant professional qualification, or have equivalent experience. This has given you a detailed understanding of ICT strategy and technical architecture. What’s more, having overseen ICT transformation programmes in a medium-large organisation, you’re familiar with driving innovation and improvement. And you’ll definitely know how to provide cost-effective services by managing finances. Above all, you can make things happen – inspiring and galvanising others with your visionary ideas.
