The Silverdale Motorcycle Project sits within Camden’s Integrated Youth Support Service (IYSS) Participation and Progression team. Silverdale is an off-road riding and motorcycle maintenance project, open to 13-19 year olds (up to 25 years old for young people with SEN) in Camden and surrounding boroughs. Silverdale operates as a traded service working with Camden schools and other agencies to deliver off timetable education to young people.
The post will be principally based at the project site in Euston where the sessions are delivered. This post will manage the project, its staff and the current traded service element, and actively look to expand the project and its business model.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
To be considered for this exciting post the successful candidate should be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about motorcycles and working with young people. You must have extensive experience of working with young people within an education or youth work setting, as well as be able to manage all aspects of a busy educational program. This would include risk assessments, finance management, project management and staff supervision. You will also have an interest in developing and diversifying the project to raise income and meet needs of participating young people. It would be an advantage to be a licensed ACU motorcycle coach, a lead track marshal, down trained CBT instructor or hold a qualification in vehicle mechanics.
