In 2017, we agreed our vision for 2025. At the heart of our plan is the ambition to truly become an open and enterprising council. Making that happen requires us to change how we work, so that we can make the best use of what we have by working in new, innovative ways to deliver our priorities for the benefit of the county’s residents and communities.
We will need to focus on solutions rather than problems and in so doing create the right leadership and governance structures that will see our staff and members work more effectively alongside our partners. It also requires a resolute focus on engagement and communication to ensure we are listening, sharing information and genuinely building trust with residents, communities and staff.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate strong operational grip, innovation and creativity. You will also bring a determination to address the challenges that we are facing. Your leadership style will inspire and energise our workforce and give renewed confidence to all that our Vision is being realised. There is clearly much to do.
