Civic Hub Programme Director

Civic Hub Programme Director
Salary up to £75k

Redbridge is changing, rapidly. Our single biggest opportunity is Crossrail and the new residents and investment it will bring. Regeneration means we can renew our town centres, bring new jobs, shops and cultural opportunities as well as a better environment.

We are determined to ensure the drive for change and renewal benefits our residents and businesses. We already have ambitious plans to transform Ilford town centre with a new civic hub and cultural quarter. We will also use our substantial land and property portfolio to deliver housing directly and with others, including much needed affordable accommodation. We’re now recruiting to three key posts to lead large parts of one of the most exciting regeneration agendas in London.

We’re transforming how we deliver our services to respond to changing local needs, support our regeneration programme and modernise our estate. Under this programme we are seeking to deliver a new civic hub in Ilford featuring council offices, a library and theatre together with workspace, sports/leisure and education facilities, alongside five Community hubs providing libraries, services for adults and children and community facilities across the borough. The postholder will lead the effort to develop this programme from concept through to full business case; brokering the discussions across the council, community and with partners/stakeholders to define our requirements, establish clear proposals and determine the most appropriate delivery route (up to a three year fixed term contract).

To be successful in these posts, you will need to be confident acting in a strategic role, have experience of leading within a complex organisation and possess a strong ambition to deliver services differently; putting residents at the heart of decision making.
