Great opportunity to lead Oxfordshire’s Highway Maintenance Service as we drive area based working, improve local engagement, strengthen programme management, and seek extra investment in the highway network.

Are you experienced at leading multi-disciplinary teams? Do you have strong technical management experience? Are you good at working closely with members of the public? Are you comfortable trying new approaches and pushing boundaries?

An opportunity has arisen to lead Oxfordshire County Councils highway maintenance delivery service with overall responsibility for all major, routine and reactive maintenance covering highway activity including Traffic, Public Rights of Way and Trees. 

The teams provide front-line services and high quality customer service to the public is essential.  You will also need ensure the teams build strong relationships with Councillors and Parish/Town Councils.

You will be responsible for ensuring the network is operating safely and that informed decisions are made about maintenance investment taking into account asset condition and community priorities.  You will work will colleagues to ensure your teams plan and coordinate works efficiently, and that public information and communication is proactive and effective.

You will be supported by and manage three main teams; Area Operations (North), Area Operations (South) and Asset Renewals.

It is an exciting time to join Oxfordshire as we push harder on local engagement and delivery, support delivery of significant amounts of development across the county, and look to increase our planned maintenance renewals programme.
