Corporate Director Children, Education & Communities

We want a Corporate Director to continually shape, lead and influence our services to realise our ambition for our children, young people and communities.

Our thriving education sector helps our young people to achieve a great start in life, supporting a highly skilled workforce and low levels of unemployment. Over 90% of children go to a good or outstanding school, with children’s services rated as good and on the way to being outstanding.

We are highly ambitious in the outcomes we seek for all children and young people and proud of our supportive leadership, low casework and professional development within Children’s Services.

Our vision for children and young people is straightforward. Children and young people are the heart of our city and of everything we do.

We have a vibrant city, rich in culture, heritage and leisure; partnerships across the City ensure we thrive for the benefits of our residents and visitors. Driving our cities culture and showcasing York as a destination is a key priority – this role is truly place shaping.
