We are looking for a Strategic Director of Adult Social Care and Health to join our strategic leadership team.

This is a key role within the council’s new corporate leadership model of four strategic directors and will be pivotal in enabling us to meet our commitment to being an efficient and high performing council delivering high quality value for money services.

You’ll be responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and development of our Adult Social Care and Public Health services at a time of unprecedented change, huge financial pressures and greater demand on our services.

You’ll play a key role in us becoming an ‘enterprising council’ moving us to expand our range of delivery models, driving out inefficiencies, being more commercial and relevant to our residents and communities.

Current priorities include working with the NHS, housing and voluntary sector partners to ensure an integrated whole-systems approach to developing and supporting communities through Derbyshire’s Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, and achieving financial savings while minimising the impact of budget cuts on the services to our communities.

You’ll have a proven ability to convey a clear vision through a period of transformational change and deliver open and effective leadership on all aspects of Adult Social Care and Public Health.

A track record at a senior strategic level and experience of the challenges and opportunities facing Adult Social Care and Health, partners and the wider public sector is essential.

If you have the passion for public service and the vision and ambition that we need to drive us forward, we would like to hear from you.

Derbyshire is wonderful place to live, visit and work.

It is a largely rural county with many sparsely populated areas, 28 market towns and around 9 million people living within easy reach of the county in surrounding cities.

For a confidential and informal discussion about the role please contact Emma Crapper on 01629 536927.

Provisional selection process (two stage): 18 and 19 June 2018.

Closing date: 27 May 2018
