Help shape the future of Birmingham Opportunities to join Birmingham City Council as part of the newly created Enterprise Zone and Curzon Delivery Team Birmingham has an ambitious growth agenda. We are planning for 51,000 new homes, major new commercial developments and £4bn of infrastructure improvements.

The city has one of the youngest and most diverse populations in Europe, the best quality of life of any UK city and is one of the best places to start a business.

And in 2026 the national High Speed 2 rail network will arrive into the heart of the City.

With a new city centre terminus station, at Curzon, High Speed 2 will not only deliver radically improved transport connections it will become a major catalyst for growth unlocking large parts of the city for regeneration.

We have clear plans to maximise the opportunities created by the arrival of High Speed 2 and have established the Curzon Regeneration Programme as one of our flagship initiatives.

High Speed 2 will also create opportunities across the wider city. We are bringing forward a growth strategy for East Birmingham to maximise the opportunities created by the arrival of High Speed 2 and the associated extension of the Midland Metro Tram Network through this area.

In parallel the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership and City Council are pioneering the use of the City Centre Enterprise Zone designation to fund infrastructure and accelerate the delivery of key development schemes through an ambitious Investment Plan.

We are creating a new team at the City Council to lead the delivery of our ambitious growth plans for Curzon; bring forward the growth strategy for East Birmingham; and manage the implementation of the Enterprise Zone.

The team will be part of our wider multidisciplinary approach to delivering the growth agenda that brings together planning, development, urban design, transport, property and project delivery functions.

Posts are funded by the Enterprise Zone which is an initiative of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership.
