Director of Integrated Children’s Services
Kent is an ambitious and highly influential county and a key part of the UK economy. With the largest population of the English counties, over 365,000 of the 1.5 million people living in Kent are under 19.
We are now developing a fully integrated Children, Young People and Education Service, headed up by our new Corporate Director, Matt Dunkley CBE.
In these two newly created roles, you will make a far-reaching difference for vulnerable children and young people in Kent.
Each with operational responsibility for integrated services in about half of the county, you will lead a range of services across statutory Children’s Social Work and Early Help & Prevention.
You will also take a county-wide accountable lead role and set the strategic direction for either social work or early help, working closely with the other lead Director and as part of the Children, Young People and Education Services Directorate Management Team.
As one of our new Directors, you will align resources, champion best practice, drive continuous improvement, and be instrumental in ensuring that children and young people in Kent are safe with the opportunity to thrive and achieve their potential.
While both will have extensive experience of strategic leadership, the Early Help lead Director will have a relevant professional or management qualification and membership of a relevant professional body and the Social Work lead Director will be CQSW.
With a track record of success in children’s services – from delivering integrated services and change programmes for children and families, through to improving services and outcomes, and forging partnerships, your flair for influencing at a strategic level, and inspiring teams to deliver change, really sets you apart.
