Full time

We’re home to some of the brightest minds in the country. What’s more, we’re right at the heart of a truly global network of innovation.  So when it comes to reinventing our entire transport and connectivity network – shouldn’t we go further than anyone else? We believe so. That’s why we’re radically rethinking how life in Oxfordshire should be. And why we’ll look to you to drive forward projects that are mind-stretching, career-building and destined to bring people and ideas closer together.  This is a once in a generational chance to shape what the internationally renowned Oxfordshire will look like not just now but in 50 years. With thriving communities, a thriving economy and a natural environment that will be equal to the best.

Specifically, you’ll take charge of high-profile capital programmes delivering on Major Infrastructure and Construction. Driving delivery from feasibility to construction, you’ll build client teams, set up supply chains, agree goals and priorities, and create a clear sense of direction. And at every stage, you’ll work hard to forge strong working relationships with local communities, other Council services, and partners like LEP, the Department for Transport, Network Rail and Highways England.

Your background could be in the public or private sector. Either way, you’ll have proved you can lead complex, large-scale, radical change programmes from inception to completion – all in collaboration with professionals, partners and customers.  Equipped with leadership or management qualifications as well as a relevant degree, you’ll be as ready to challenge as you are to support and encourage; as skilled at interpreting business data as you are at boosting efficiency; and as politically astute as you are commercially aware.
