Full Stack Java Developer

As an experienced Java Developer, you’ll be contributing to key software development projects within a large, agile portfolio.
Join us, and you’ll be planning, designing, creating, testing and maintaining account solutions for Camden, Haringey and Islington Councils. With your expertise and drive for excellence, you’ll incorporate best practice and quality into everything that you do. It’s an exciting opportunity to work with business analysts, software architects and other developers, building an understanding of users’ needs. Together, you’ll see that all three boroughs get the best possible Development service.
Day to day, you’ll be assessing applications for process improvement; analysing and resolving technical problems; taking part in peer reviews; and enhancing solution designs and code. So you’ll need to be an experienced Software Developer who can develop enterprise service-orientated systems, and contribute to design and implementation.
We’re looking for knowledge of best practice Scrum development covering TDD, automation and CI. An understanding of advanced coding techniques, integration and front-end technologies will also be essential. Ideally, you’ll bring experience of enterprise Java, and frameworks and APIs such as JSF, Liferay and RedHat Fuse too. But above all, you’ll follow high quality development principles while delivering solutions on time and to budget.
While technical knowledge is crucial, you’ll need more than this to succeed: creative thinking, an eye for detail and strong analytical skills. If you also thrive under pressure and enjoy bouncing ideas around with a team, you could be the person we’re looking for – and a great mentor for junior staff.
