Assistant Director, Wellbeing (Director of Public Health)
Creating a City of Opportunity
If you think you know Stoke-on-Trent then think again. The city is undergoing a transformation. Just 90 minutes from London, the UK’s 13th largest city has embarked on a journey with job creation, regeneration and building much needed homes at its core with ambition to grow the local economy by 50% by 2043 with the award of “The Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone ” a key factor and first step in achieving this ambition.
Stronger Together, the City Council’s Vision, has been developed to demonstrate how working together can create a stronger city we can all be proud of.
This vision has led to a number of priorities and objectives to secure the best possible outcomes for our residents.
We now need to strengthen our senior team to balance effective governance with our social responsibilities. To do this we have to invest in people who show the ‘can do’ attitude that will bring about positive change in our city. Assistant Director, Wellbeing (Director of Public Health) –
This is a broad ranging role with a remit that extends beyond public health and will include a corporate responsibility encompassing the role of leisure and public protection.
Our direction of travel is good but we are looking for you to bring the drive and determination to continue our development and improved outcomes for the people of Stoke-on-Trent.
In return we offer a rewarding challenge in a go-ahead and supportive council.
Stoke-on-Trent continues to transform itself, and the council’s vision means that there is a real opportunity for individuals seeking to significantly make a difference for our great city and to deliver the best possible services for our residents.
