Our emerging Greater Cambridge Planning Service, a shared planning service between Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council, requires outstanding people to support the implementation phase and to help us to deliver for our people and communities, one of the best planning services in the Country.

We are firmly focused on the future and are seeking two Assistant Directors to shape and manage our new shared service.

As the Assistant Director - Strategy and Economy, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of planning policy and strategy for both councils and our partners, as well as the strategic economic development and infrastructure planning services for the Greater Cambridge Planning Service.

You will also be responsible for developing our consultancy service so that it supports corporate and partner programmes within and beyond Greater Cambridge. Reporting to the Joint Director of Planning and Economic Development, you will contribute to the development and implementation of the shared service’s vision, promote our one team culture and deliver a high-quality cost-effective planning services.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced planner who can share our commitment to quality and innovation and can forge strong and meaningful partnerships to exert influence across the Greater Cambridgeshire area and beyond.
