Head of Looked After Children
Our vision is for Manchester to be in the top flight of world-class cities by 2025. The task we've set ourselves is challenging. It will take hard work, collaboration, energy and commitment to achieve our vision. But Manchester is a city that gets things done.
In Children and Education Services, we have already made huge strides towards delivering excellence. In our last Ofsted report (released December 2017), Inspectors saw good evidence of improvement across all services areas, as well as strong leadership and an ambitious and well-articulated vision.
We are now seeking to accelerate our transformation and develop our team by appointing a key post within Children’s Social Care.
We are also recruiting a new Head of Looked After Children to lead our residential, fostering and permanence teams, as well as manage the contract with the regional adoption agency.
You will be responsible for six permanence teams, our commissioning team, our foster and residential services, alongside working with local regional adoption agency, Adoption Matters.
You will focus on securing positive permanent placements for our looked after children so that they are ready to live independent lives.
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker with statutory experience.
It is vital that you have high standards and are able to forge strong and meaningful partnerships, exert influence across the city, and contribute to our aim of building a safe, happy, healthy and successful future for children and young people.
We are a city and a service on the move - to find out how to be a part of Manchester’s success story, please see: www.mcc-leadership.com or contact our advising consultants Gary Evans or Luke Judd (0113 205 6077).
