Breckland and South Holland District Councils are looking to welcome an ambitious senior manager to play a key role in our skilled and dedicated corporate leadership team. Your challenge is to be highly visible in leading a newly formed team aiming to drive the delivery of value for money through the Councils procurement activities and management of contracts, through hands on delivery of major tenders and contract negotiations.
Ambitious and driven by service excellence, the new post holder will provide vision and leadership in developing and implementing this new service, ensuring people, systems, policies and processes are in place to enable the team to deliver its objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to further your procurement career in a dynamic, challenging and high profile environment. A resilient personality and track record of delivering creative and innovative solutions are required for success in this role.
Steeped in best-in-class procurement experience from a fast-moving working environment, you will have experience of developing and embedding procurement strategy, end to end category management across a varied spend portfolio and developing and managing high preforming teams. With exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills, you will ideally be degree educated or CIPS qualified and have the credibility and gravitas to secure buy-in and embed best-practice procurement.
