Rushcliffe Borough Council is located in West Bridgford, Nottingham and re-located in late 2016 to a new purpose built office and Leisure Centre facility Rushcliffe Arena. Looking to the future and our commercial property portfolio, we are seeking to recruit a Solicitor to join our Legal Services team who will take the lead on this work and also assist with advising the council on company structures.
You will have experience in conveyancing and property management law and an interest in company law. The legal team also advises on planning enquiries and Section 106 Agreements, assets of community value and other issues affecting local authorities.
The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with significant property disposals and acquisitions of land. The council is currently developing and expanding its property portfolio particularly with regard to investment property and employment land and industrial units. You will have experience in dealing with leases, licences and general property advice.
This role will undertake a wide variety of transactions and you will work closely with the members of the team to provide a professional and effective legal service to the Council. We are seeking an applicant with demonstrable people skills, experience of working in a team and with technical abilities across property and company law.
Previous local authority experience is not required but this is a great opportunity to develop your skills and career at a leading local authority. Rushcliffe Borough Council operates in a three tier local authority area working closely with Nottinghamshire County Council, other neighbouring councils, and the 35 parish councils in Rushcliffe.
