We are a large, diverse, outer London Borough with inner London challenges but big ambitions.
A successful, high performing Council, we want to deliver our core services with a high level of quality, while seeking new and innovative ways to do business.
In order to ensure that the Council continues to be effective in its financial management and continues to deliver value for money services, we need an officer who is experienced and able to strategically lead the Council’s finances, including support to its trading companies, investment strategy and capital programmes, corporate finance, exchequer services, financial management and accounting systems and operational support function. Working with a range of local and national partners, you will ensure the delivery of innovative, effective and efficient services to the Council and its service users. You will deputise for the S151 Officer and lead all day to day financial management across the Council, ensuring finances remain robust and well managed. As the finance expert, you will provide high level advice, guidance and challenge to the Council’s senior leadership Team and Members in order to deliver corporate outcomes.
The successful candidate will need to be a qualified member of one of the CCAB accountancy bodies. You will need to demonstrate significant experience of leading the finance function for an organisation of comparable scope and complexity, successfully managing large budgets and competing priorities, while working as a member of the leadership team. You will be able to demonstrate an up to date knowledge and understanding of the law, regulation, government policy and best practice in relation to the functions provided within the service.
If you have the expertise and vision required for this challenging opportunity, we would like to hear from you. Please visit www.EnfieldLeadership.com
