We are a large, diverse, outer London Borough with inner London challenges but big ambitions.

A successful, high performing Council, we want to deliver our core services with a high level of quality, while seeking new and innovative ways to do business.

This challenging role has a significant and diverse brief across Regeneration, Estate Renewal, Planning, Strategic Development and delivery and transformation of major front line Environmental Services.  A key part of the role will be to ensure the inception and implementation of major regeneration projects. The scale of our  ambition can be seen in our flagship £6bn investment in Meridian Water, one of the largest housing developments in London which will create 10,000 new homes and 7,000 permanent jobs for our residents.  You will also drive the Council’s commercialisation strategy, building and sustaining effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, promoting the overall interests of the borough.

As an ambassador for Enfield, you will promote the overall interests of the borough, establishing partnerships, generating inward investment and maximising income generation in line with the corporate strategy.  You will support the Chief Executive in his decision making and strategic approach, driving economic growth in Enfield, with the adaptability to meet the requirements of a potentially changing portfolio.

Leading and managing an effective team, you will be expected to provide exemplary leadership within the context of a challenging background.

The successful candidate will bring a track record, drive change and have an appreciation of the types of challenges faced by Enfield, with the ability to see the big picture and be aware of future trends that may impact on the Council.  The capability to build and sustain effective relationships at a senior level with a range of stakeholders, including the relationship with elected Members, our trading companies and the development community, is fundamental.  High levels of political nous and business acumen will also be essential for this senior role.

We value applications from all parts of the community and encourage applications from women and ethnic minorities who are currently under represented at this level.

If you have the expertise, drive and vision required for this exciting opportunity, we would like to hear from you.
