The City of Wolverhampton Council has set out ambitious plans to improve the City’s housing offer, including accelerating the delivery of more new homes.

We are seeking an exceptional housing professional with significant senior management experience, to undertake the lead role in developing, and ensuring the delivery of the Council’s housing strategy cross all tenures.

You will have an in depth understanding of housing need and the ambitions of the people of the City as well as the Council’s regeneration agenda, with a passion for developing new housing and a reputation for getting things done.

You will take the lead on the delivery of new housing in the City. This will include ensuring the successful operation of the Council’s own housing development company, which has a pipeline of over 1,000 new homes to be built in the next 5 years, and work in partnership to make the best use of the private housing sector and registered housing providers.

As Service Director, you will provide strong leadership and work closely with the Strategic Director and Managing Director to ensure that the housing offer is supportive of the City’s ambitions, being responsible for developing strategies and plans for recommendation to the Strategic Executive Board, Cabinet and the Council. You will ensure that delivery leads to positive outcomes for the City of Wolverhampton.
