Trafford is a thriving, prosperous and culturally vibrant Borough at the heart of the Manchester City region.

It is celebrated as the enterprise capital of Manchester, hosts the largest industrial park in Europe, is the home of internationally renowned cultural and sporting attractions and is a major driver of economic growth. Children and young people in Trafford achieve some of the best education outcomes in England and have access to a high standard of education offer and above average employment levels.

But Trafford also has areas of deprivation and faces the same financial pressures affecting local government and the wider public sector in the UK.

To continue to excel in delivering good outcomes for children and young people we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead on education strategies that will ensure that all children and young people in Trafford have access to good or outstanding early years, school and college provision and are able achieve their potential.

This role will provide strategic leadership across the Council to ensure that the highest standards are maintained in all settings for children and young people across Trafford and will also lead the services we deliver.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders and Elected Members ensuring that the needs of children and young people, their families and schools are prioritised and their quality of life outcomes are improved.

The Children, Families and Wellbeing Service is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
