Director of Resources
Rochdale Borough Council is an ambitious organisation, which has set out to build success and prosperity with its citizens and partners, driving performance improvement and shaping an even better future for Rochdale through its 8,000 employees.
This is an exciting time for a forward-thinking individual to join the organisation to work with the Chief Executive in developing innovative programmes of work that will position the council as an enabler, looking to the future, while ensuring the council delivers against its medium-term financial strategy.
You will be a key partner in the nationally-significant Greater Manchester devolution programme and play a key part in promoting the council’s role in this work.
You will also support the health and social care integration agenda and other relevant large-scale programmes of work regionally and nationally.
You will provide strategic leadership and direction across a range of corporate finance and support functions, including revenues & benefits, legal & governance, HR, organisational development & payroll, and corporate health & safety services.
As well as ensuring, through the Chief Finance Officer, that the council fulfils its statutory requirements under section 151 of the Local Government Act (1972).
You will be a significantly experienced leader with the highest level of political astuteness and personal integrity.
You will have the ability to apply strong critical thinking and have well developed influencing and negotiation skills.
