Set within the heart of the UK’s financial sector, the City of London Corporation offers an environment like no other. Dynamic and fast-paced, it’s a place where ambitions thrive and careers are driven forward. Add to that the fascinating challenge of the City Police, and the dual-role of IT Business Manager is quite exceptional – and now you can take on this enticing prospect.

As a world-leading business, tourism and commercial district, The City of London and the City Police have never been busier. We therefore rely on our IT services being absolutely seamless, which is where you come in. Taking responsibility for a team of four, you will be based in the Chamberlain’s IT department in the Guildhall Complex. With a keen focus on risk management within our provision, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day reporting of actual, mitigated and residual risks within information technology. We need to be ahead of any potential troubles, so you will develop a risk management framework strategy that will be compliant with our audit requirements, and you will ensure that we see every audit action through to full completion.

While risk management will occupy a great deal of your working life, all IT matters will fall into your remit, and your confident management of the department’s budget (which is around £15million) will ensure we are prepared for every eventuality. As such, you will need great financial and business acumen, with previous experience of managing large budgets in a similar complex IT service environment. With great analytical skills, you will produce meticulous reports and develop tools required to report on business intelligence. Strong people management skills will be required, as will your ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner. With a track-record of leading high profile projects to a successful conclusion, you won’t be intimidated by working in a challenging environment – in fact, you’ll thrive on it, and your accounting knowledge (as proved by a CCAB qualification to technician level) will be complemented by your fluent understanding of audits.

This is an exciting opportunity for a team-player with good prioritisation skills to make their mark at a senior level. So if you have exceptional understanding of risk management in an IT context, and you’re ready to take on the challenge of a lifetime, then we’ve got the role for you.

Closing date: 12:00 noon on 31 March 2017.
