Assistant Director, Resident Services
Up to £104,000 + benefits
With a thriving cultural scene and competitive economy, our borough has always stood out from the crowd. Our council is just as unique, with a vision that places residents at the heart of progress. Our commitment to fairness and innovation has led to some very exciting developments – and there are many more to come. Help us realise our vision and make positive change happen.
As Assistant Director for Resident Services, you’ll advise on and take charge of areas including Housing and Council Tax Benefit, Council and Business Rates, Permit Services and Call Centre operations. Your role is to ensure that these services perform at their very best – but you’ll also lead on introducing new ways of working that are co-designed with residents. You’ll think innovatively about improvements to our online services and amalgamate others to make them cost efficient. You’ll also establish a new Residents’ Services Division, identifying alternative funding sources and managing the department’s exciting capital schemes.
An experienced senior manager, you’ll bring resilience and an open-minded approach. You will have led at least two service areas in the past and contributed to strategy. With this background, you’ll have a clear idea of the issues affecting local government, particularly those related to the delivery of Residents’ Services. With experience of complex budget management, you’ll possess strong financial acumen. Your technical expertise should come with excellent people skills and a gift for collaboration, as you’ll need to build strong partnerships to achieve our aims and ambitions.
